QUOTATIONS FOR INSPIRATION

For purposes of relaxation I submit herewith a few quotations for my friends to ponder
(Diikuti dengan terjemahan)

The fact that an opinion has been widely held is no evidence whatever that it is not utterly absurd; indeed in view of the silliness of the majority of mankind, a widely spread belief is more likely to be foolish than sensible.

Buckminster Fuller, R:

We are called to be architects of the future, not its victims.

I just invent, then wait until man comes around to needing what I've invented.

The dark ages still reign over all humanity, and the depth and persistence of this domination are only now becoming clear. This Dark Ages prison has no steel bars, chains, or locks. Instead, it is locked by misorientation and built of misinformation.

My ideas have undergone a process of emergence by emergency. When they are needed badly enough, they are accepted.

You cannot get out of the way of things you cannot see moving toward you.

Words are tool ..... the most powerful tools made by man.

One picture of a caterpillar does not tell you it is going to transform into a butterfly.

6. Dustin Moskovitz - Facebook
7. Bill Gates: Microsoft

(Pendidikan ialah pintu masuk ke kelas menengah)

Entrepreneurship is the elevator for the rich.

(Keusahawanan ialah lif untuk orang kaya)

Eight integrities of a business are:

A. Mission
B. Leadership
C. Team

1. Product
2. Legal
3. Systems
4. Communications
5. Cash Flow

In reality the entire business integrities in the B-1 Triangle is about communication.

Leadership is a function of communication and the better the communicator, the better the leader, and the stronger the organization.

The problems are: Lawyers go to school to learn the language of law, Systems engineers go to school to learn the language of engineering. Accountants go to school to learn the language of finance and cash flow, marketing people speak the language of sales and marketing. The problem is each of the five core specialties from product to cash flow, all speak different languages.

One problem with promoting the head of accounting, legal, systems, or marketing to leadership over the entire organization is they tend to favor their specialty and minimize the importance of the other professional specialties.

Leaders do not have to know everything .... as long as they remain respectful and caring for the good of all.

Leaders and entrepreneurs are generalists who surround themselves with specialists who bring precise, area-specific knowledge and experience to the team.

Sophocles:

What you cannot enforce, do not command.

Steve Jobs:

You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.

Stay hungry. Stay foolish.

Sydney Banks:

Mind, Consciousness and Thought are the three principles that enable us to acknowledge and respond to existence.

Some believe the brain and the mind are the same.
But there has to be a power behind the brain to make it function.
The brain and mind are two entirely different thinga.
The brain is biological.
The mind is spiritual.
The brain acts like a computer.
Whatever you put into it is all you get out. This is logic.

An important thing to realize is that Universal Mind and personal mind are not two minds thinking differently, but two ways of using the same mind.

The Universal Mind, or the impersonal Mind, is constant and unchangeable.

The personal mind is in a perpetual state of change.

Thought is not reality; yet it is through Thought that our realities are created.

Consciousness allow the recognition of form, form being the expression of Thought.

All feelings derive and become alive, whether negative or positive, from the power of Thought.

Thomas Jefferson:

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies (1802)

Will our children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered?

Thomas Sowell

The WELFARE state is the oldest CON GAME in the world. FIRST you take people's money away QUIETLY and then you give some of it BACK to them FLAMBOYANTLY.

Victor Hugo:

No army on earth, however big, can stop the advance of an idea whose time has come.

Warren Buffet:

Derivatives are financial weapons of mass destruction.

(Derivatives are) carrying dangers that, while now latent, are potentially lethal.

William James:

A great many people think they are thinking when they are merely rearranging their prejudices.

(Ramai manusia berfikir bahawa mereka sedang berfikir, sedangkan mereka sedang menyusun prejusis mereka yang sedia ada)

William Westmoreland:

The military don't start wars. Politician start wars.

(Tenteraa tidak memulakan peperangan. Ahli politik yang mencetuskannya)

Winston Churchill:

The future emperor of the world is the emperor of ideas

We sleep safely at night because rough men stand ready to visit violence on those who would harm us.

Assalamualaikum wbt Tan Sri,

Namanya Prof Dr Syed Jaffar Hussein.

Begini lebih kurang yang beliau selalu sebut,

" He appeared to be very wise and intelligent and I thought so... but the moment he start to open his mouth and talk, then without a shadow of doubt he is a confirmed donkey"

Inilah kehebatan IQ Allahyarham Tan Sri P Ramlee.

Akhir Kalam, Gong Xi Fa Cai dan Selamat Solat Maghrib buat Tan Sri sekeluarga.

Assalamualaikum Tan Sri,

Such refreshing quotes Sir!

I particularly loves 3 quotes;

From Charles Cooley;
"Never believe anything until it has been officially denied"

My version;
Believe everything after it has been exposed but you cannot do anything.

From General George S. Patton;
"Live for something....rather than die for nothing"

My version;
Live for something (cash and power) rather than for nothing.

From Mark Twain;
"Lies would have travelled half-way around the world before truth puts its boots on"

My version;
Lies would have travelled half-way around the world before truth puts its boots on but unfortunately the boots got stuck in the hole made by lies.

Quotes often recites by Tun M lately;
"Power corrupts absolute power corrupts absolutely"

Quotes given by my uncle;
Promises are like babies fun to make but hell to deliver!

Wasalam Tan Sri.

Assalamualaikum Tan Sri,

Thank you Tan Sri for sharing these wonderful quotes. I do have a few quotes that I believe are worth sharing with YBhg Tan Sri and fellow readers.

Quotes from Mahatma Gandhi - "Many people, especially ignorant people want to punish you for speaking the truth, for being correct, for being you. Never apologize for being correct, or for being years ahead of your time. If you’re right and you know it, speak your mind. Speak your mind even if you are a minority of one. The truth is still the truth."

Quotes from Dr Adrian Helmsley in '2012' movie - "The moment we stop fighting for each other, that's the moment we lose our humanity."

Quotes from Franklin D Roosevelt - "The future lies with those wise political leaders who realize that the great public is interested more in government than in politics"

Quotes from Albert Einstein - "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough"

Quotes from Chanakya (an Indian philosopher aka The Indian Machiavelli) - "The one excellent thing that can be learned from a lion is that whatever a man intends doing should be done by him with a whole-hearted and strenuous effort"

"As a single withered tree, if set aflame, causes a whole forest to burn, so does a rascal son destroy a whole family."

"The wise man should restrain his senses like the crane and accomplish his purpose with due knowledge of his place, time and ability."

"The biggest guru-mantra is: never share your secrets with anybody. It will destroy you."

"Purity of speech, of the mind, of the senses, and of a compassionate heart are needed by one who desires to rise to the divine platform."

Quotes from Aristotle - "The most perfect political community is one in which the middle class is in control and outnumbers both of the other classes"

"The wise man does not expose himself needlessly to danger, since there are few things for which he cares sufficiently; but he is willing, in great crises to give even his life – knowing that under certain conditions it is not worthwhile to live."

Have a pleasant day Tan Sri
