RED SHIRT RALLY - PERHIMPUNAN RAKYAT BERSATU

PERHIMPUNAN RAKYAT BERSATU

The 'Red Shirt' rally, the same colour being chosen by the pro Thaksin demonstrators in Thailand, or "Perhimpunan Rakyat Bersatu'' will take place today 16.09.2015. The sponsorship appears to be of BR1M orientation, and more Indonesian than Thai inspired, although the 'donations' for today's event, despite not being of Arab origin, is more generous. The name of the rally is deceptive as the 'rakyat' or the people implies all the races in Malaysia whereas this 'Red Shirt' rally is limited to only a few Malays, not inclusive of all Bumputras, and more so limited to a certain type of UMNO members.

I have not posted this article earlier as I know it is futile to join in the chorus to try and stop the event. It is big business and profitable to some. I am sure the police will know whom to arrest when something wrong happens.

The police, as in those earlier years would have got the list of those sponsors and trouble makers. They should however not spare the VIPs if involved. Especially when such arrests need not be with the consent of the newly appointed Attorney General.

This is a 'meaningful' gathering as it is an attempt to portray MELAYU BERSATU (Malay Unity) and not RAKYAT BERSATU (Unity of the People); it is a confession that the Malays are now split or 'Tidak bersatu padu'.

Even UMNO itself is not united. Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah is said to be having a separate event on this same day with all participants wearing white. Being royal Ku Li would have chosen yellow had DAP not used the colour for their BERSIH rally. I have also seen photos of red shirts with the slogan 'Undur Najib' calling for the Prime Minister to step down. I hope it is not used today.

PECAT TSMY & DSSA - THE MALAYSIAN INSIDER

Umno bertambah lemah jika pecat Muhyiddin, Shafie, kata bekas setiausaha agung

OLEH NABIHAH HAMID

Umno akan bertambah lemah jika Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin dan Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal dipecat esok, kata bekas setiausaha agung parti Melayu itu, Tan Sri Sanusi Junid. – Gambar fail The Malaysian Insider, 8 September, 2015.

Bererti yang tinggal hanya 'yes man',” katanya.

– 8 September, 2015.

SACKING OF TSMY & DSSA - THE MALAYSIAN INSIDER

Umno will be weakened if Muhyiddin, Shafie sacked, says veteran leader

Veteran Umno leader Tan Sri Sanusi Junid says the party must give better reasons before sacking its deputy president and vice-president. – The Malaysian Insider file pic, September 8, 2015.

Umno will grow weaker if it sacks deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and vice-president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal at its highly anticipated Supreme Council meeting tomorrow, says veteran leader Tan Sri Sanusi Junid.

The former Kedah menteri besar said the reasons for sacking them were weak and would anger the grassroots who still supported the duo.

“Umno will be weaker because every leader has followers, supporters, friends and relatives.

"And if the sacking happens, it will be over differences of opinion. That means only yes-men would be left," Sanusi told The Malaysian Insider.

He was responding to rumours that Muhyiddin, Shafie and five other Umno leaders would be expelled from the party during the long-delayed meeting of the party's highest decision-making body tomorrow.

Sanusi said anything could happen, now that the Malay ruling party was struggling with numerous problems.
"It all depends on speculation, interests and the thinking of the leaders."

He added that if the both men were sacked, it would mean Umno leaders were afraid of them and were not thinking the issue through.

"It means the leaders do not have a long-term strategy and only know 'panic management'," said Sanusi, who was Umno secretary-general and vice-president during Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's time.

A message circulating on WhatsApp is claiming that Muhyiddin and Shafie, Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, Datuk Abdul Aziz Sheikh Fadzir, Datuk Seri Ahmad Said, Datuk Hamidah Osman and Datuk Jumat Idris will be axed from Umno in tomorrow's meeting.

Those on the list have been vocal in demanding more answers regarding the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) saga from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

In a Cabinet reshuffle on July 28, Muhyiddin was stripped of his deputy prime minister and education minister positions, while Shafie lost his rural and regional development minister post.

Both had been critical of the way Najib, who is also finance minister, had handled the 1MDB controversy.
The Umno Supreme Council has postponed its meeting twice since the Cabinet reshuffle, as the party grapples with a backlash from the increasingly unhappy grassroots. – September 8, 2015.

JOSE UGAZ - FULL SPEECH AT IACC

Who paid the money and why?

Speech by José Ugaz, 2 September 2015 – 16th IACC, Putrajaya, Malaysia

Minister Paul Low, Deputy Chief of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission,

Mr.. Akere Muna, head of the IACC council,

Mr. Akhbar Satar, president of TI Malaysia:

Let me first thank the IACC for bringing so many people together as part of our great global movement to tackle corruption.

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission for hosting the conference with the IACC.

And the Malaysian people for welcoming us to their beautiful country at this momentous time.

This week Malaysia celebrated Merdeka – its independence from colonial rule and freedom from oppression.

Independence and freedom.

The building blocks of a fair and just society.

All countries face challenges, especially new countries, and I looked back at some of the statements from the founding father of the nation, Abdul Rahman, made at the time of independence in 1957.

SACKING OF UMNO MEMBERS - BERITA DAILY

03/09/2015 10:31 AM
Sanusi: Sacking in Umno will not stop, yet

The former Kedah Menteri Besar says legal option seems to be the last resort, at the moment, to get the truth out

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno members that drag party matters to court can be sacked as the party constitution allows it, said Umno veteran Sanusi Junid today.

Nevertheless Sanusi was quick to add that this did not mean that such party rules were meant to protect Umno leaders that meddled with its funds.

He said that the rules were in reference to mismanagement at lower levels which could be arbitrated by the various central committees.

Sanusi who has been an Umno member since 1963 was commenting on the sacking of Anina Saadudin, from the Kampung Padang Matsirat Umno branch, for taking party matters to court.

Anina on Tuesday received a letter from Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor who said she lost her membership in Umno with immediate effect under Article 20.7 of the Umno constitution for suing party president Najib Razak over the RM2.6 billion political donation.

Anina known for her outburst during the Langkawi women delegates' meeting last month in which she had accused Najib Razak of lying to the three million Umno members over the political funds, made her second wave last week when she filed a lawsuit against Najib in an effort to reclaim for the party the political donations deposited into his personal accounts.

In filing her suit, Anina claimed that the sum of money did not appear in Umno’s audited accounts in either 2013 or 2014, which the complainant said was a breach of Umno’s constitution and the Societies Act 1966.

She said that her legal action was for the benefit of the party, and had also sought an injunction to prevent being removed or suspended from office as a result.

Umno responded by sacking her from the party.

Speaking to Berita Daily, Sanusi pointed out that there were two unsettled issues - the first being if the RM2.6 billion was truly a donation, and the second, if that amount was channeled from state-owned investment firm 1MDB.

“It's ridiculous, unbelievable and a mockery to even imagine such donation is possible after scrutinising all possibilities.

“The Arab Gazette wrote 'The Saudis are not amused' as their headline, Tun Mahathir went further to ask how much 'donation' Najib expects for GE14. Anina chose a kinder option by believing that it was a donation in which she would like Umno to have the money back.

“As polite approach by deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin resulted him being sacked from deputy prime minister's post, and harsh words from Anina was cleverly misunderstood, there's only legal approach that she could think of,” said Sanusi.

He added such things never happened in the old days as no Umno president ever walked away with Umno money.

When asked if the streak of sacking of those who questioned Najib will end, the former Kedah menteri besar has doubts that the sacking fiesta will end anytime soon.

“I don't think this act of sacking for the wrong reason will end once it has started. The circus will turn into a festival,” he said.

POLIS SOAL TUN DR. MAHATHIR

1MDB - HOW FOREIGNERS LOOK AT US

THE IMDB SCANDAL HAS GONE A LONG WAY. WITH ALL THE NEW ISSUES BEING DELIBERATELY INTRODUCED, INTENTIONALLY OR NOT, IT IS BETTER THAT SOME UNCENSORED FOREIGN REPORTS, OR REPORTS ON FOREIGN OPINION, BE REINTRODUCED HERE IN ORDER TO REFRESH EVERY READER'S MEMORY.

The 16th International Anti-Corruption Conference is taking place in Putrajaya from today until Friday. – The Malaysian Insider pic by Kamal Ariffin, September 2, 2015. Malaysia must provide answers on the US$700 million (RM2.6 billion) transferred to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's accounts, Transparency International told an international anti-corruption conference in Putrajaya today.
Its president, Jose Ugaz, said Malaysia's commitment towards fighting corruption cannot be taken seriously as long as it did not explain who paid the money, why, and what happened to it.

"We want to see more progress (from Malaysia) but that cannot happen while there are unanswered questions about the US$700 million that made its way into the prime minister's personal bank account," said Ugaz at the opening ceremony of the 16th International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC).

The hall, which comprised delegates from across the world, broke into applause at his statement.

"No one can be in Malaysia and not be aware of the corruption allegations of recent months and how damaging they are to the country."
