A FILM ON TUN DR. M.
 

Ms. Jen Nie wrote to me recently asking for an interview on Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. The others whom she had interviewed included Tan Sri Abdullah Ahmad, Dato' Din Merican, Professor Khoo Kay Kim, Tan Sri Zainuddin Maidin and Dato' Dominc Puthucheary. I am glad to be included as the next person after these more knowledgeable, colourfull and dignified personalities. The interview is meant to be for a film on Tun Dr. Mahathir during his years in political wilderness (1969-1972) in which the book "The Malay Dilemma" was written.  Jen Nie wrote:

 

"What we like to explore is how the narrative - from May 13, 1969 to the announcement of the NEP and everything in between markedly rewrote Malaysian history to the extent that this narrative has appeared to be almost too difficult to challenge today."

 

Tun Dr. Mahathir will be the leading character in this film.

 

In reply to Ms. Yen NIe's message of May 21, 2015 I replied:

 

"Thank you Yennie for your interest in interviewing me. As I was working and studying in Hamburg, West Germany, following my period of study in London, I was actually not in Malaysia when May 13th incident took place. When I contested in the General Election, as a Barisan Nasional candidate in 1974 I was not a member of UMNO, i.e. after having registered as a member on 13th October, 1963 when I was apprenticed with The Chartered Bank in Seremban. Out of 199 articles that I have posted in my blog sanusijunid.blogspot.com 11 articles are related to Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamed. I suggest that you read these articles first before we meet in order that you can economize your time and I too will not have to repeat all the boring things that I have written.
